Childhood Obesity: Little Kids, Big Problems.

The dangers of childhood obesity are many, and overweight kids face serious health risks. Studies show overweight kids have less energy and have a harder time focusing in school. (Watch Austin’s story.) Overweight children are more likely to be obese adults. As adults, they’re more likely to develop health problems, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and stroke. And more and more overweight children are being diagnosed with these same serious health conditions. (Watch Maya’s story.) Unless the current trend is reversed, this will be the first generation to live sicker and die younger than their parents.
